Our Community

The Mid Peninsula School District is located in the central Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is situated between the Gladstone Area School District to the south and the Gwinn School District to the north.

The school district was formed in 1977 as a result of a consolidation of two small rural K-12 districts. The former districts were Rock School District and the Baldwin Township School District.

The Mid Peninsula School District is comprised of four townships and covers an area of 332 square miles. There are two townships in Delta County and two in Marquette County.

The school is located 22 miles from Escanaba (to the south) and 50 miles from Marquette (to the north). These are the two largest communities in the central Upper Peninsula.

The district has a student population of about 287 students, K-12 all housed in a single building. The building has a separate wings for K-6 and 7-12 grades. The school is located 1/4 mile west of M-35 on the St. Nicholas 31st Road which is two miles north of Perkins and six miles south of Rock.
